I'm an American and I'd like to say right here, right now, that I am not the most politically minded individual that's graced this Earth nor do I ever want to be. I do not watch the Debates on CNN or even CNN all that often. I pay attention sporadically to what's going on in the government because, frankly, I know that my voice means jack-shit in the grand scheme of things.

However, I do vote and I do some as an informed individual. I watch the presidential elections like a hawk, listening to the candidates and choosing one that I believe will best represent not only me but America. So, I'm not uninformed even if I am, at best, ineffectual and at worst, ignorant. But even the ignorant aren't stupid and I am no where near stupid.

This is what makes this whole business with 'Net Neutrality' really gets under my skin, because I'm not stupid and I'd like to think that I understand what my rights are. Apparently, Congress and the companies such as Comcast and AT&T, doesn't think that I should have certain rights even if I, as an American, as a HUMAN BEING, should have them guaranteed. They're trying to restrict access to content on the internet.

Restrict access to content on the internet.

I'm sorry, but isn't it supposed to be the consumers - you know, the consumers. They're the ones that PAID for the internet service. - that get to decide what they do and do not want to see while surfing the web? Right?

I don't care if it makes me sound like a fool or what I've written makes me look like an idiot, but I'm not about to let my rights get trampled on just because the big companies think they have the right to regulate what I can and cannot see just because they're upset that Iwe might be looking at something that upsets them.

Screw that noise.

I've been a part of Save the Internet, a coalition of like-minded people that have banded together with non-profit organizations to protect internet freedom, for a few years now and today they sent me a petition to sign. And sign it I did!

I'm sharing what I wrote, below, and hope that even if what I'm doing or have written doesn't appeal to anyone reading that at least it will get someone, somewhere, interested enough to take a look into what's happening with Net Neutrality and, just maybe, getting them just as interested in taking action.
